I am a loving mother, daughter, sister, and friend. I am spiritual, educated, thoughtful, creative, hard working, and blessed!
I am Ms. Rachel, a 34 year old Licensed Social Worker. I am also a single mother of five. Yes FIVE! 🙂 By the grace of God I wear many hats!! I am a Project Coordinator, Resident Supervisor, Aspiring Writer, and Public Speaker. I have experienced everything from the death of a parent and a child to domestic violence. My life has been a journey full of experiences and lessons that I feel compelled to share with the world. I have a heart for women and girls, all girls, but especially Black girls.
I have kept journals since I was in the 2nd grade. I’ve always wrote about the things that were going on in my life. There were so many times I wanted to give up and I know first hand that life is not easy. Sometimes we experience circumstance beyond our control and sometimes we make choices that set us back and we just need positive support to get it back together. I want to encourage, uplift, and inspire you to set goals and believe that you can make it! The goal of this blog is for my readers to be able to read my stories, get information, ask questions and share your experiences with me and others.
I am someone who people tend to gravitate towards when they need to talk or want advice. I genuinely care because in most cases I have been in similar situations so I will definitely keep it real! If I can help one person from sharing myself and being transparent …mission accomplished! Thanks for joining me!
